My name is Lee Shaw and I am the coach and owner of Shaw Coaching.  I started competitive running when I was 8 years of age and have been involved in athletics/distance running ever since.  My first venture into coaching was when I was 14 years old with my running clubs pole vaulters, I have been helping coach both teams and individuals since then.  In 1994 I came over to the US from England to run in college.  In 1995 I earned All American status as a relay member in the schools 4 x 800m team.  I graduated in 1999 with a physical education and health degree from Eastern Michigan University.  In the fall of 1999 I started coaching at Livonia Ladywood High School, there I coached 2 state champions and many of my athletes rewrote the record books.  I then went on to coach at Livonia Franklin, University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Plymouth High School.  In 2006 I decided to move into collegiate coaching, coaching at Marygrove College and University of Michigan-Dearborn.   During this time, I also virtually coached recreational runners.     Around 2007 I started a company called Total Motion which incorporated running with massage therapy, then I changed the name to Next Level Coaching in 2011.  In 2016 I renamed the company again this time to Shaw Coaching.  I have successfully coached over 1000 athletes from fast to slow and a lot in between to reach their true potential.  Until recently I was a stay at home dad with coaching addiction, my kids are my life.
